The movie begins with this feeling hidden beneath the opening scene  a ship frozen in the middle of nowhere and a terrified man pulled out of the ice. His face tells you everything: he isn’t afraid of the world… he’s afraid of what he created. Right from the start, the film shows that this is not just about a monster, but about a man who tried to control life itself and now can’t escape the consequences.

Directed by Guillermo del Toro and produced by Guillermo del Toro, J. Miles Dale, and Scott Stuber, Frankenstein (2025) follows the journey of Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Oscar Isaac), whose obsession with defeating death leads him to create a living being the Creature (Jacob Elordi).

But instead of glory, he faces guilt, fear and heartbreak. Del Toro beautifully shows the creature as a misunderstood soul rather than a villain.

Heart-Touching Dramatic Scenes

1. Elizabeth Begins to Understand the Creature

One of the softest emotional moments comes when Elizabeth (played by Mia Goth) encounters the Creature alone. Instead of panicking, she watches him closely ,the way he flinches at sudden noises, the way he looks at her with fear rather than aggression.

There is a moment when the Creature tries to speak but fails, and you see Elizabeth’s expression soften. She realises that he isn’t violent by nature , he is confused, scared, and desperate for connection.

Her gentle tone and steady gaze make him step back from anger and towards trust.

It’s a powerful scene because it shows a rare understanding that Victor himself never gave his creation.

2.The Cabin Scene – A Moment of Pure Acceptance

In a small cabin, the Creature listens to a blind man playing the violin. For the first time, someone doesn’t scream or run. The old man speaks gently, unaware of how the creature looks.

The silence between them feels safe ,a rare moment where the Creature feels human.

This scene shows that he was never born a monster; he became one because of isolation.

3. The Creature Learns to Survive on His Own

Another beautifully dramatic part of the film is when the Creature begins learning to survive after being abandoned.

You see him watch animals to understand how they find food.

He copies the way people move, speak, and interact by observing them from a distance.

He even practices simple words alone in the forest, failing again and again but trying because he wants to belong somewhere.

There’s a scene where he shelters himself from rain inside a broken shed, arranging wood the same way he once saw villagers do. It’s heartbreaking because survival becomes his only teacher.

He learns not because he wants to live… but because he doesn’t want to feel helpless anymore.

Overall opinion :

           This film isn’t about jump scares. It’s about emotion, ambition, regret and humanity.

If you enjoy deep storytelling and rich visuals, Frankenstein (2025) is definitely worth watching on Netflix. It stays with you long after the screen fades to black.
